LinkedIn® professional networking services has recently changed the user privacy settings, by default, to give it permission to include photos, posts and related activities of LinkedIn® professional networking services Users in third party paid advertising. Thus making the user an implied endorser of a company, product or service, without his/her explicit consent.

The actual text reads as follows:
"LinkedIn® professional networking services may sometimes pair an advertiser's message with social content from LinkedIn® professional networking services's network in order to make the ad more relevant. When LinkedIn® professional networking services members recommend people and services, follow companies, or take other actions, their name/photo may show up in related ads shown to you.

Conversely, when you take these actions on LinkedIn® professional networking services, your name/photo may show up in related ads shown to LinkedIn® professional networking services members. By providing social context, we make it easy for our members to learn about products and services that the LinkedIn® professional networking services network is interacting with."

Another bright/positive trend for these economic times, yes?

My PowerHour office and team — is based in Park City, Utah — the home of three wonderful ski resorts — and the 2002 Olympics. No trip/vacation/destination is more expensive than a ski vacation. And related to the luxury trends/spending mentioned in this article above — it's been a strong/record ski year — and the resorts and local businesses are celebrating.

Big picture — if the affluent are back spending money on ski vacations and business/companies are back spending money/time on luxury accommodations and hotel/hospitality options — then businesses are back investing in their companies, hiring new employees and making decisions about capital expenditure projects. This means — the fluidity of financial flow — is back greasing the wheels of economic strides forward — good/great news for the corporate housing sector, yes?

1. Double-digit rent increases are coming.

2. In some markets.rents are already going up 7% to 8%. And in markets like Miami — high occupancy is triggering waiting lists.

3. In 2010, developers broke ground on only 114,000 rental units — and 2011 is forecasted at 133,000 rental units not nearly enough to cover expected demand. Low supply and high demand = higher rents

1. Monthly reports of new job losses have abated and the index of consumer confidence has displayed a modest upward trajectory in recent months.

2. Hotel rates will rise modestly in the majority of U.S. markets, and aggressively in a few such as New York and Miami, driven by the combined impact of growing demand from business travelers and the hiatus in new hotel construction observed during the past two years.

3. The bed bug problem will continue to pose challenges for hoteliers in selected urban destinations as it is now clearly on the minds of all travelers: a remarkable 31 percent of U.S. travelers are “very/extremely” concerned about an encounter with bed bugs on a future hotel stay; another 29 percent are “somewhat” concerned.
